Clayco relocated and expanded its St. Louis office and operations

Clayco moved its 580 St. Louis-based team members to a renovated facility located at 8640 Evans Avenue in Berkeley, Missouri. The 230,000-square-foot office in the NorthPark Development accommodates space for over 1,000 employees, as the company anticipated adding at least 400 additional team members in the following years.

Clayco and its integrated companies created an inviting, meaningful, and sustainable environment for employees, as well as a showcase for clients and prospects. The vibrant and collaborative workspace fosters creativity and innovation while supporting the growing team. Health and wellness goals include an optimized window-to-wall ratio and skylights that enhance daylighting throughout the building, as well as collaboration areas and outdoor amenities such as landscaping, seating, and a pickleball court.

The Berkeley office serves as the home for many of the company’s design-build construction functions, including operations, business unit leadership, architecture, process engineering, safety, IT, marketing, finance/accounting, and talent management. In addition, Lamar Johnson Collaborative, CRG, Ventana, Concrete Strategies, Clayco Design & Engineering, and Consolidated Distribution Company are headquartered in the new office.

Composed of three primary “bars” that are offset and stacked, the arrangement creates unique spaces for collaboration, open views of the surrounding landscape, optimizes solar orientation for amenities, and provides programmatic flexibility not found in typical office buildings. The top “bar” of the complex soars 11 stories and cantilevers toward downtown Chicago, providing visual identity along the interstate while projecting the strength and future focus of the company.
